Trees for Trout

Kyle Glenn from TU Northeast is putting together a Trees for Trout trial habitat project this summer. The plans is to collect used Christmas trees (real ones) and use them to create habitat on the Wiscoy.

According to Kyle, "My aim is to use them for habitat on Wiscoy for a trial installation this summer. In other states this kind of habitat benefited young of year trout, age 1-2 trout, and macroinvertebrates. Once permitting is approved I will have an implementation date for volunteers. I don't have a set number in mind since this is the first year but around 24-30 trees would be a nice goal."

Kyle may need a few more trees for this year but definitely needs some hands with the execution. Please contact him at kyle.glenn@tu.org to discuss donating your old tree or volunteering for a pretty exciting project.
