WNY Trout Unlimited Youth Programs Receive Grant from Rich Products

Western New York Trout Unlimited was recently honored to receive a $900 donation from Rich Products for our Stream Explorer Youth Program. Our Stream Explorer program promotes wellness and inspires the next generations of conservationists and anglers. Through fly fishing, we teach kids to get outside and discover nature, appreciate their surroundings and develop responsibility and a personal stake in the health of the environment around them. We feel this improves one's mental well being. The funds will be used to run the program throughout the year and provide gear to the kids who commit to the program.

Our Stream Explorers 2024 kickoff will take place on Saturday, February 10th at St. John Paul II Parish, 2052 Lakeview Rd in Lakeview from 9am-11am.
We'll meet in the basement community room of the little church where we'll learn about fly fishing, fly tying, local watersheds and Keep Fish Wet catch and release ethics. Kids will be able to learn to fly cast using practice rods and full size fly rods if weather allows. All youth will receive a complimentary years youth membership to Trout Unlimited. We'll also be unveiling the 2024 schedule of events and outings for the Stream Explorers. This event is free and open to the public as are ALL Stream Explorer events.

We are greatly humbled and thank Rich Products for their support in our mission and the gift that will allow us to continue and expand this program that we feel represents the future.
