July Trout Sampling and Electroshocking info

Below is the schedule for our trout sampling the last week of July. And being July, we could again have issues with high stream temperatures, so be sure to check your emails prior to coming out to make sure we don’t have to postpone either day. Please let me know if there are days you are planning to come out, especially the 30th as we will be doing a hot dog lunch that day and it helps to know how much to bring. Thanks.

Sampling schedule

Tuesday July 29th
– Wiscoy Creek: Meet at the DEC angler parking area on Rt 39, just east of the intersection of Rt 39 and Rt 362, at 9:30 AM. We will be doing two sampling sites here, one upstream where Kyle Glenn’s Xmas tree project was done last summer, and another in the afternoon downstream as part of Kyle’s beaver pond study. We will take a lunch break between them.

Wednesday July 30th
– Wiscoy Creek and Trout Brook: Meet at 9:30 AM at the Hillside Road bridge on Wiscoy Creek. We will be doing a site upstream of the bridge as part of Kyle’s beaver pond study and then after lunch we will be doing another beaver pond site on Trout Brook. We will be having a hot dog lunch this day. If you are planning to join us for the hot dog lunch, please let me know ahead of time so I know how many dogs to bring! Thanks😊.

Thursday July 31st – Back up day.

If you need better directions, or have other questions, please let me know.
