Chapter Election Update

(Webmaster Note: PLEASE don't take this as a forgone conclusion. As Chuck Godfrey states in the post, we are required to present a slate of candidates to our membership per our bylaws. Membership is ENCOURAGED to nominate either themselves or others for ANY of these positions. More participation is a great thing. We're working with what we have and those who have expressed interest.)

We need to hold elections for chapter officers and directors at the March general meeting. The office of president is a two-year term, with a maximum of two consecutive terms. This the last year that Joe Morgan can serve consecutively, so there needs to be a new president elected.

Current vice president Ken Kinecki has volunteered to run for that office. The vice president, treasurer, and secretary all have one- year terms. Tony Messina and Dave Unetich have volunteered to run again for treasurer and secretary respectively. Chuck Sherry has volunteered to run for vice-president. The terms of Don Kwiatkowski, Chuck Sherry, and Jim Jowsey are up this year. Don has opted to not run again, after many, many years of leadership roles in the chapter. Thanks to Don for all you’ve done over the years.

Jim Jowsey has volunteered to continue as board member and Adam Slawinski and Jennie Worling have volunteered to serve as Board members. According to our by-laws, The Board is required to present a slate of candidates to the membership at the annual meeting (March). This will be announced to the membership in the March newsletter.

Nominations will be accepted from the floor at the February and March meetings, and ANY TIME via email, phone call, etc. The slate is not meant to discourage others from running for any of the offices. It’s simply a by-laws requirement. Any member can be nominated by any member, including him/her self. We welcome new blood into the leadership at all times. Over the last couple of years, we’ve had several members tell us they would like to become more involved in the chapter. Here is a way to do it. The Board generally meets 9 times a year, on the second Tuesday of the month, at Sorrentino’s in Williamsville. If you wish to volunteer to serve, please contact Chuck Godfrey (Nominations Committee Chairman) at steelheader03@hotmail.com , 716-440-6995, or in person at one of the next two general meetings.
