April 2026 President's Report

Congratulations to all of the newly elected officers and board members. Our chapter is blessed with a strong leadership group, a stable and engaged core membership and strong momentum in many of our chapter’s important conservation and community outreach efforts. I look forward to working with everyone to advance our goals for cold clean water and great fishing in our country.

The TU fiscal year is ending at the end of the month. Please make sure all volunteer hours are submitted. Please try to use the volunteer hour feature on the WNYTU website.

Two youth from our Stream Explorers program were selected to go on the TU Expedition this summer in Wyoming. The chapter will be paying $500 tuition/each from the Youth Education fund.

New York State Council Trout Camp will be held in Deposit, NY – starting on Sunday, June 28 and wrapping up on Friday, July 3. We do not currently have an attendee from our chapter. I will be attending the teen camp and providing fly tying equipment and materials.

The Orvis Rod/Reel Raffle was held at the March 31st general meeting. Congratulations to member Greg Stromecki. We raised $1,000.00 and extend thanks and gratitude to Chuck Sherry for his donation.

On behalf of our chapter, I want to extend our heartful thanks to Joe Morgan for his many years of service. Joe was recently recognized for his outstanding contributions to our local conservation community.

Sincerely,

Ken Kinecki
